"All About Prints"

This film, funded by The Print Research Foundation, had its premiere on Friday, October 31. The event was attended by about 150 dealers, curators, collectors and other interested parties, many of whom walked over to Pratt House on East 68th Street after the IFPDA Print Fair closed for the evening.

"All About Prints" was edited and produced by Chris Noey of Stereopticon Pictures. It features interviews with artists, such as Will Barnet and Kiki Smith, curators (Antony Griffiths of The British Museum, Debbie Wye of MOMA, David Kiehl from the Whitney), dealers (Brooke Alexander, Robert Newman, Susan Teller) and art historians and collectors.

The Public Broadcasting System has accepted the film, and it will be shown on many PBS stations starting Spring-Summer, 2009. A DVD will be produced, but the timing and method of its distribution is undecided.

A second premiere is to be held in London on
November 19, 2008.

The Print Research Foundation was created by Reba and Dave Williams to provide research facilities for the study of prints made by American artists during the last 150 years.  The Foundation also sponsors independent research on prints, and travels exhibitions from the Williams collection.

The Print Research Foundation houses the print collection of Reba and Dave Williams, background files on more than 2,000 printmaking artists, and an extensive library.  Three exhibitions of more than 100 prints each are installed in the galleries at the Foundation:  19th century etchings; American screenprints, 1930s-1980s; and masterworks by American printmakers, 1905-1945.  Mini exhibitions are featured in the Foundation's Atlantic Street window.
